Who doesn’t know who Taylor Swift is? Whether it is for her songs, charity or drama, Taylor Swift is a phenomenon that is here to stay. I will be the first to admit that I am not a fan of hers but I do admire her songwriting abilities and her entrepreneurial spirit.
On January 7th, the day of the snowstorm, we decided to venture into the city to do things located inside. The new Taylor Swift exhibit located in Seaport District on Fulton happened to be one.
If you follow my insta-story, you’ll have seen the photo above. When you first enter the experience, you’ll head to this counter if you did not buy your tickets in advance on Ticketmaster. I did not because the times confused me. From what the girl explained to me, they had to be times for Ticketmaster but it doesn’t really exist, its a come and you feel system. Our tickets were about 12 dollars each. The first floor has all of Taylor’s outfits, guitars and memorabilia like lyric sheets from tours as well as baby photos. We got through this section pretty quickly.
The second floor had the more interactive items. We almost left before seeing the second floor because it wasn’t well signed that “Hey, you can go upstairs too”.
Upstairs, there was a giant light up dance floor. Her music video would play in the background and you could dance on this pad and every time you pressed a key, it would light up a different color. There was also a recording studio where you could sing with Taylor and a room where you could watch her Grammy interview.
If you are a huge Taylor Swift fan, it is definitely worth it to visit. It would make you feel closer to her but for me, the light up dance floor was worth the cost of admission! The Taylor Swift Experience is open until February 19th. Buy your tickets online or in-store or click here for more information.
